Columbia, Mo.  — The Board of Directors of Day Dreams Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of Adonica Coleman as the organization’s new Executive Director, effective July 8, 2024.

Since founding in September 2014, Day Dreams Foundation has been dedicated to making dreams come true for children in Columbia. The non-profit is driven by a singular mission: to eliminate financial barriers to participating in extracurricular activities and to foster healthy lifestyles, goal setting, academics, teamwork, and respect for others among children aged 5 to 18.

“We are thrilled to welcome Adonica to Day Dreams Foundation,” said Rick Matheny, board president and treasurer.  “Her passion for engaging the community and for the Day Dreams mission of ensuring all children have access to enriching extracurricular experiences makes her the right person in the right place at the right time.”

Coleman is the owner of A2D Events and the creator of The Como 411. She is the host of the weekly talk show, the Daily Blend with AC and is the current chair of the Columbia Chamber of Commerce. Her community work includes work with Granny’s House, the BOLD Academy and REDI.

“I am excited to leverage my skills and experience to further Day Dreams Foundation’s impact, reach and visibility,” Adonica said. “Together, we will continue to make dreams a reality for even more children in our community.”

Coleman will fill the role vacated by Tricia Koedel, who was the first Executive Director of Day Day Dreams Foundation. Under her leadership, Day Dreams Foundation secured new office space and awarded nearly $400,000 in activity fee scholarships to more than 700 Day Dreams Kids.

“I want to personally thank Tricia for everything she has done during her time with Day Dreams,” said Joe Bradley, founder and lifetime board member. “Thanks to her dedication and work, our organization is the strongest it has ever been, and we are in a great position for Adonica to expand our efforts supporting Columbia’s kids. I’ve known Adonica and her family for many years and I’m excited to see how she uses her unique skills, charisma, and voice to elevate Day Dreams in the future.”
